Hey there!
Happy Monday! Hope you have had a lovely weekend.
Yesterday, as I said, my best friend arrived. Being Sunday, nothing is really open past 4pm so we decided to go out for the afternoon to go shopping at our (relatively) local discount shopping complex, and grab a bit of lunch. It was a great, relaxing day of catching up, taking photos in the surrounding area, and of course shopping!!
It was really fun – as you can possibly have guessed by this point I am a big fan of Christmas, and it was fun looking around at all the decorations on display (I think I’m a bit of a magpie… “oooh shiny things!”) I picked up some tinsel but that’s it – I enjoy buying stuff gradually as opposed to all at once. We all considered it a great achievement that we managed to resist the urge to buy EVEN MORE clothes (though we’re going shopping again today, so how long this is going to last I don’t know!) Though I did spend some money in the craft section (of course!) This was mainly full of christmas stuff, which I don’t really need, so I didn’t get as much as I might have! (Blessing in disguise?) I got a few stickers for next years theme scrap-book project (Me to You album) and some sheets of card and paper for both scrapbooking and card-making. Oh and I couldn’t resist getting some tiny cards (3×3 I think) because I thought they were too cute to not get! I think the find I am happiest with, after stopping off in the haberdashery so my friend could pick up some new knitting needles and a ball of wool, I finally found some self cover buttons!! I’ve been looking for some for a while now, but wherever I go they either don’t stock them or they have sold out! I’m so looking forward to trying them out!
OH didn’t get anything but as he later pointed out he didn’t need anything, though of course spent time looking through the guitar section, and examining tab books.
My friend and I have a sort of tradition when we see each other of getting small presents for one another, yesterday was no exception as I got her a Beanie Boos toy for her collection:
And I acquired a ninja watchover voodoo keyring… is it wrong that I find these incredibly cute?
When we were finally finished looking around and buying slightly less exciting items like shampoo and nail varnish, we stopped for a small lunch, before heading outside to take some pictures in the riverside walk area. Seriously this place has such lovely surroundings of woods and water!
At home yesterday evening, we all chipped in together to make a mexican dinner (nachos and fajitas) and chilled with a couple of films (He’s Just Not That Into You and Date Night) before heading off to bed as OH had to get up for work this morning.
As you can imagine, not much was done in the way of crafting, though I did draw up a plan for a scrapbook page – as of course I have another day out to add now (I think I might need to add some page protectors thinking about it) Side comment here, when you buy a book with page protectors, I’d recommend buying another pack and some post extenders straight away, because otherwise you can accidentally buy the wrong ones – I didn’t buy the ones I have – OH’s Mum got them and they don’t fit her books (though luckily they fit mine so not a total waste).
The plan this evening is to get something done, even if it is just starting something! But if I don’t I can get some cross stitching done tomorrow, and having a couple of days off isn’t a massive problem – I think the priority today is to print off pictures for scrapbooking (no I still haven’t finished the fireworks page – I know what am I like!) This will be later this evening though, as OH is meeting us in town later on and we’re going to grab an early dinner out.
I suppose then, I should get ready!
Happy Crafting!
