Hi there!
The last week or so has been quite uneventful, I’ve had a bad cold and cough, and haven’t felt up to anything creative really. Aside from feeling awful, the weather has matched my mood too! The last couple of days though, I slowly got back into things, and did some cross-stitching! Been a while I know!
I first talked about “The Big Gift” back at the end of March, in this post. As I mentioned then I am on a “timer” with the project in a manner of speaking, so making progress this week is a good thing! And here it is:
Hopefully you can see it’s Peter Pan! And where it gets interesting, is when I tell you I couldn’t find any (suitably sized) patterns for him anywhere! SO, I designed him myself… Kind of!
I actually used the Mowgli design (from Cross Stitcher Magazine) I stitched before, and copied it out onto squared paper, drew a basic Peter Pan onto it, and worked from that. I chose the colours myself, and kind-of corrected a little as I went. I really like how he’s turned out though! It did really make me think about the lack of designs for male Disney characters though! Has anyone else noticed this? (princesses everywhere, and not many princes)!
As with the previous post, I still have some more to do to complete the project, which I have actually made a little headway with (and hopefully will do more today). Ideally I’d like to finish “The Big Gift” within the next week, though I have a little longer than that! So, there we are for now, and this is the last you’ll see of the project until it has been sent off! I will post it then, as I would like them to be a surprise for the person receiving them!
For now though I have to get ready to go out!
Hope you have a lovely day whatever you’re up to!
Happy Crafting!

Hope you’re feeling better! The Peter Pan looks fabulous, can’t wait to see the complete big project
I am thanks
I’m really pleased with how he turned out – especially because he’s a bit of an improv job- would have liked to have had a proper pattern really!
Not too long ’til I post about it, probably a week or 2
