I’ve Been Shopping Again!

Hi there!

I had the most relaxing day yesterday. I didn’t get anything done, I just spent the whole day not doing anything, but watch tv and films, play my Wii and spend time with OH. It’s got to be done sometime, and if it’s been a while for you, I would seriously recommend it!

One thing I did do yesterday was buy some bits on eBay for my Scotland mini book. I’ve got no closer to actually making it, but at least I’ve started thinking about it! For under £8 I got:

Some Travel, stamped fabric stickers from The Paper Loft.

This Travel ABC from P.inc.

Hot off the press Vacation sentiments from Paper Pizzazz.

I did also get some Scotland based stickers the other day but I’ve totally forgotten where from! Typical right. Along with the things I gathered I should have plenty to make my album, my only regret is not picking up postcards, which is SO unlike me! I really don’t understand it! But I have loads of leaflets from where we’ve been as well as photos and tickets and things like that.

I’m quite looking forward to getting started, so now I just have to get everything together, wait for these bits to arrive and then it can begin! At the moment, I’m planning on using it as a side project when I start working on the Christmas stuff next month… Which seems way too close! I have had a bit of stitchers block recently, and have barely picked up my bear project, but I want to get it done by the weekend, so we shall see. I then have a couple of tiny things to do, which shouldn’t take long even if I do them alongside the “Big Project” as it became affectionately known last year!

So, my plan for the rest of the week, is to get everything together. Organise myself, and get stitching! I also want to dig the Big Project out, because it’s been hidden away for a while now, and I want to make sure I know where I am with it!

What have you been up to this week? Remember to add some relaxing to your to-do list!

Dino Crazy Mini Cards

Hi there!

I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already, it’s insane, I haven’t done much at all this week! Last night I wanted to do something quick and easy just to get back into things after being away, having not done any crafty stuff other than a tiny bit of stitching. It was then I rediscovered some puffy dinosaur stickers in my stash.

I remember being a big dinosaur fan around 7-10 years old, I think everyone goes through it (I was lucky the release of Jurassic Park was the perfect time for me, though I remember being terrified at the time, but that’s another story!) So the timelessness was why I picked the stickers up in the first place, but then I realised they were pretty small and didn’t really know what to do with them. So away in the drawer they went. Until last night, when I found them, and dug out my 3x3ins cards (from the Just a Little series) and I came up with these:

Have a “Fab ‘o’ saurus” day:

Have a “Dino-mite” Birthday:

They’re a little rough around the edges, but I think they’re pretty cool. I had a bit of fun looking for relating sentiments, these were the least cringeworthy of the bunch! If you can think of any others do leave a comment, I have a few more stickers to use!

Other than all this, I’ve penned a to do list for the rest of the month, I will be starting on Christmas projects from the beginning of September, so want to get as much done as possible, including continuing the A-Z Book of Me, which hasn’t been forgotten honest!

Hope you’re having a great week!

July Stitching

Hi there!

I have some errands to run this morning, and then it is home to a blank canvas (so to speak). I’ve been fairly consistently busy for the last few weeks, which has been fun, and now I find myself at the starting point of a new project.

I have quite a lot planned for July, not least because I have big plans for finishing what I started last year before December! I have got quite a way to go in the meantime, and I just  have to find somewhere to begin; so far I have a list of a handful of small(ish) cross-stitch projects I want to work on, but I don’t know what I want to start with.

I’m back at that fun point in time, where so far this is what I have sitting in front of me (not literally, but you get the idea)…

Some of the projects I have lined up, are needed sooner than others (some not until the end of the year). They are for a variety of things, from personal mementos, to gifts and cards for friends and family. And of course I have a personal project which I may or may not do, depending on how much time I have! This is sort of a copy of my list:

I’m not giving too much away at this stage (where’s the fun in that) but rest assured there will be loads going on as usual this month! And of course this means you’ll have to come back tomorrow to see what I decide to work on!

I hope you have a lovely day, whatever you’re up to.

Wine Glass Charm Card in Orange

Hi there!

It’s yet another rainy awful day here, I’ve been out at my volunteer job this morning (didn’t quite have time to post before I left) and now I think it’s more movies and chill-out with OH before he goes back to work tomorrow.

Onto today’s bit of crafty goodness… I made this card as a bit of a try out, I picked up a pack of flower shaped wine glass charms in a charity shop a few months ago, thinking they might be useful, and I decided to see if I could use them on the front of cards.

Here’s how it turned out:

I wanted to use up some odd scraps of paper from my stash too, so I started with a base of orange paper, and layered on some of this patterned cardstock, adding some faux stitching to give it a patchwork look. Then I tied a bow, attaching the wine glass charm as I did it. I stuck the bow to the card front with a glue dot, and added the sentiment, and hand wrote onto the front.

It is actually a lot brighter in real life, but the joys of grey weather right!

I am really happy with how this has turned out, so expect to see more of these soon!

Check out the Facebook page for albums of previous creations, I plan on updating these again in the next couple of days, and you can get involved with my lighthearted “question of the day” or just have a chat!

Have a great day!
